Buy Hair Extensions Online

You have probably already given your new look a lot of thought, and you want to be sure you choose the product that is right for you.

That makes sense: high-quality hair extensions or hair thickening are an investment that should pay off.

What to consider before ordering your hair extensions!

If you want to buy hair extensions online, there are a few things to think about first. To help you keep track, we have put together a checklist in the form of questions. Simply go through it point by point, and at the end you will be able to order the extensions that suit you best. That way, you can be confident of getting the right product when you shop with Rubin Extensions.

1. Do I want to wear my extensions every day?

If you want to wear your extensions every day, choose a permanent extensions type. Bonding extensions, microring extensions or tape-in extensions are best suited for this.

2. Do I only want to wear my extensions on special occasions?

If you don't want long hair every day and would rather add variety to your everyday hairstyles, flip-in / halo extensions, ponytail extensions or clip-in extensions are perfect.

3. How thick is my natural hair?

With very fine hair, clip-in extensions are not always ideal, because the clips may show through. Tape-ins are a better choice here, and our Invisible Line is especially well suited. Flip-in hairpieces, which are held in place with an "invisible" wire, also work well.

If your natural hair is very thick, you will of course need more extension hair so that the result looks natural. For very thick hair, we generally advise against flip-in hairpieces. Clip-ins, tape-ins, keratin bondings and microring extensions, on the other hand, are an excellent fit.

4. How long should my extensions be?

If you want to add a lot of length, we recommend bonding extensions. They hold the weight of the hair better, and there is less risk of losing individual strands.

If you only want medium-length hair, you can also use tape-ins or microrings. All temporary hair extension methods, such as flip-ins or clip-ins, are also wonderfully suited.

5. Do I want to lengthen or thicken my hair?

Keep in mind that you need more wefts or strands to add length than to add volume. For example, you need 3–6 packs of tape-in extensions for lengthening and 1–3 packs for thickening. It is better to order one pack too many than one too few. You can easily return an unopened pack.

6. What color is my natural hair, and which color do I need?

Depending on whether your natural hair is a single color or has highlights, you may want to use more than one shade. As a rule, blending colors makes the result look more natural. However, this is not possible with every extensions method. Flip-in or ponytail extensions, for example, cannot easily be mixed. The rule of thumb here: choose one shade lighter, because if in doubt you can adjust the extensions with a toner. We advise against bleaching hair extensions, as it would damage the hair structure too much. We also offer ombré and sombré color gradients for most types of extensions. If you are unsure, it is best to order an additional color and test it. You can easily return an unopened pack. If you want to be completely sure, you can order a Color Ring from us. This shouldn't really be necessary, though, as all our product photos were taken in daylight. That makes choosing a color easier, even for those who buy hair extensions online from us for the first time.

7. Do I want to add color accents, or should the extensions match my natural hair?

An exciting option is to add individual strands in red, black, blonde or pastel shades to create beautiful accents. Ombré or sombré color gradients also let you create great-looking effects with little effort.

8. What quality level should I look for when buying extensions?

If you want to wear your extensions long-term, choose high-quality hair. In general, the higher the price of an extensions line, the longer the product lasts, and the longer you will enjoy it.

If you are not yet sure which hair extensions suit you, or whether they are for you at all, you can start with more affordable and flexible extensions. If you know exactly what you want and have enjoyed wearing extensions for a while, go straight for very high-quality products.

9. How many strands or wefts do I need?

With bondings, you need 50 to 75 strands for thickening and 120 to 200 for lengthening. The same applies to microring extensions. If you use tape-ins, take 2–4 packs for thickening and 5–8 for lengthening.

10. Will I apply my extensions myself, or will someone help me?

Bonding extensions and microrings consist of many small hair strands. Applying them is involved and takes time. Especially at the back of the head, it can be tricky if you try to do it entirely on your own. Ideally, your hairdresser or a friend can help you. The temporary extension types, on the other hand, are designed so that you can easily put them in and take them out by yourself.

11. Which extensions method suits me best?

Were you able to answer the questions so far? Then you hopefully have a good idea of which hair extensions method best meets your needs. If you are still not quite sure, you can simply order two or three different types of hair extensions online. If the packaging is unopened, you can easily return them. It can also be worthwhile to test different methods more thoroughly. That way, you can find out what feels better to you over longer wear and what is easiest to style.

12. How much do my preferred extensions cost?

In general, the price of extensions is determined by the amount or weight of hair and by its quality. Methods that stay in the hair longer, such as keratin bondings, microring extensions and tape-in extensions, represent a higher quality level and sit in a higher price range. Temporary methods such as clip-in extensions or flip-in extensions are generally more affordable.

13. Do you offer discounts?

On our sale page we offer products at attractive prices every day. Take a look around; maybe you will find your dream hair there too!

14. How quickly will I receive my extensions?

Rubin Extensions ships your order from Switzerland. Delivery times depend on your destination country. If you need your hairpieces for a particular occasion, it is best to order them in good time. Supply shortages at our suppliers can occasionally happen. And if the color turns out not to be right, you will still have the chance to exchange the product before your big moment.

15. Can I return or exchange items?

In principle: yes, of course! But please note that our return and exchange terms only apply to unopened items. It is best to read up on how returns and exchanges work before you buy. Please use our return form, fill it out and send it back to us with the items within 14 days.

If you have opened the items and notice a defect, please contact our customer service directly. We will be happy to help you quickly and easily.
