Applying bonding extensions – an overview
Preparing to apply bonding extension strands is similar to preparing for tape-in extensions. Your own hair is parted, and the extensions are attached to strands of your own hair. Make sure that your natural strands are the same thickness as the extension strands. As with all types of extensions, bondings are applied from bottom to top and from back to front. To attach the bondings, it is best to use our Rubin mini flat iron.
Extensions with bondings – a step-by-step guide
STEP 1
Part your hair with a comb and pin up the top section so that it doesn't get in your way while you work. Then use a tail comb to take a strand from the lower section, directly at the parting. This strand should be exactly as wide as the bonding strand you will attach to it.
STEP 2
Place the extension strand against your strand about 2 mm above the scalp and bond it in place.
STEP 3
Using the method from steps 1 and 2, work your way up the back of your head, section by section and strand by strand. Then add length at the sides in the same way.
OUR TIP:
Don't place the keratin bondings right up to the edge of your hairline. If the extensions are too close to the edge, the attachment points may become visible when you style your hair or tie it back.
