Our service providers

To operate our online store, we work with carefully selected service providers who process personal data on our behalf or under their own responsibility:

Store platform and hosting: Shopify International Limited, 2nd Floor Victoria Buildings, 1–2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Shopify Inc., 151 O'Connor Street, Ottawa, ON, Canada. Shopify provides the technical infrastructure of our store (including checkout, payment processing and email delivery). We also use advanced Shopify features (Shopify Network Intelligence), in which Shopify uses data from your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify; for details, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

Logistics and shipping: Just3PL AG, Farbgutstrasse 5, CH-9008 St. Gallen (warehousing, shipping and returns handling). Swiss Post (Schweizerische Post AG) in particular is used for delivery. These service providers receive the data required for shipping (name, delivery address, order contents and, where applicable, contact details for delivery notifications).

Product reviews: Judge.me (review service). After a purchase, you may receive an invitation to review the product; published reviews appear in the store under the name you provide.

Advertising and analytics (only with your consent): Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland (Facebook/Instagram advertising, including conversion measurement) and Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Google and YouTube services). The related cookies and pixels are only set after you have given your consent via our cookie banner; you can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Payment processing: Depending on the payment method you choose, your payment data is collected and processed directly by the respective payment service provider (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit card providers). For purchases on invoice via PowerPay, the invoice claim is assigned to MF Finance AG, Am Bohl 6, CH-9004 St. Gallen; the data required for processing and for an identity and credit check is transmitted to PowerPay/MF Finance AG.

Fraud prevention: During checkout, Shopify and the payment service providers use systems to detect and prevent fraud (e.g. checking transaction and device data).

International data transfers

Your personal data may be processed in Switzerland, the European Economic Area (EEA), Canada, the United States and other countries in which our vetted service providers operate. Store data is currently stored on Shopify infrastructure in the USA.

For transfers to countries without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on recognized safeguards, in particular: adequacy decisions of the Swiss Federal Council or the European Commission (including for Canada), the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified US providers, and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the adjustments required for Switzerland.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use technically necessary cookies to operate the store (e.g. cart, login, fraud prevention). We only use non-essential cookies in the categories of personalization, analytics and marketing after you have given your consent via our cookie banner. You can view, change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. An overview of the cookies set by Shopify is available at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Newsletter

When you sign up for our newsletter, you will first receive a confirmation email (double opt-in). We only add you to the mailing list after you have confirmed. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email. At checkout, you are only added to the mailing list if you actively tick the corresponding checkbox.

Retention period

We only keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes stated or as required by legal obligations. In particular, we retain contract, order and accounting records for 10 years in accordance with Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO). We store newsletter data until you withdraw your consent.

Your rights under Swiss law

Under the Swiss FADP, you have in particular the right to access, rectification, erasure and data release or portability, as well as the right to object to processing or to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, an informal message to service@rubin-extensions.com is sufficient; for security reasons, we may ask for proof of identity.

The competent supervisory authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, CH-3003 Bern (www.edoeb.admin.ch). For individuals in the EEA or the United Kingdom, the rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR set out in the privacy policy also apply.
