The dirndl has been a tradition in the German-speaking Alpine region since the 19th century. Over the years, this traditional dress has changed and been modernized again and again. The high necklines and long sleeves and skirts of the early days are long gone. By the way, the name comes from the Bavarian-Austrian word "Dirn", which means something like "young girl". The dress was the clothing worn by these young women. To really show off a dirndl, you need a striking dirndl hairstyle. With your extensions you can now rock the dirndl! In this blog post, we would like to introduce 4 different hairstyles that are not your usual dirndl hairstyles but are perfect for anyone wearing hair extensions and hair thickening .

Pipe braids

Pipe braids were the eye-catcher at Coachella, mainly thanks to Romee Strijd's version. They make a fantastic dirndl hairstyle: unusual, yet still a type of braid, which makes them hard to beat as a modern, fun dirndl look. This hairstyle is also called an infinity braid and can be created with all kinds of types of extensions. Here we show you how to recreate this style with human hair extensions. But be warned: it is not all that easy.

1. First, part your hair down the middle. A rattail comb gives you the most precise part. Pin one side up with a hair clip.

2. Start on the other side and separate a larger strand of hair. Take this strand from the front, close to your face.

3. Then take a smaller strand, also from the front, and wrap it from front to back under the larger strand to create a loop.

4. Next, take this thin strand and lay it over the top while still holding the loop, then thread it through the loop and pull it tight. Pin the end of the strand to the other side of your head with a bobby pin.

5. Then take a thin strand from the right and wrap it around the thicker strand as well to create a loop, thread the strand through it and pull it tight.

Once you have done this on both sides, add the smaller strands to the larger one and take the next strand to braid all your hair close to your head. As an in-between step, you can pin the braid in place with a hair clip. That way, you can also rest your arms from time to time.

When you reach the nape of your neck, secure the braids with a hair tie.

You will probably need to practice this hairstyle a few times before it is perfect, but it is definitely worth it – it looks amazing!

Braided updo

This hairstyle looks like it came straight out of a fairy-tale book. Here are the instructions for this elaborate-looking style. You will be amazed at how easy it is to style with your Remy hair. Because we didn't want to show yet another complicated hairstyle, this is the cheat version of the braided bun, which you can do yourself in just a few steps. All you need are two hair ties and about 5 or 6 bobby pins.

1. Divide your hair into two sections again.

2. Then braid two braids of the same size, starting either right at the nape of your neck or in the middle of your head for a beautiful effect.

3. Pass the left braid under the right one and back over the top. Then pin it behind your ear and once more in between so it really stays in place.

4. Then take the remaining free braid, also pass it under the one already pinned, and secure it in the middle on the same side. Leave the end loose for now.

5. Then take this end, lay it over the top of the bun and pin it on the other side of your head.

Hide all hair ties and braid ends under the rest of your hair, and your braided bun is done.

Boxer braids

They are fun, they are practical, and they radiate strength and power! Boxer braids are hugely on trend right now. They take a little more effort, but they are easier than pipe braids, so with a bit of practice you can easily recreate them at home. Braiding colorful ribbons into the braid also looks great and gives the hairstyle that special something!

1. Take a comb and make a straight part at the back of your head that divides your hair into two sections. Pin one section back.

2. Comb your hair through well and smooth it back.

3. From your section of hair, separate a small triangle at the front, taking some of the hair right at your forehead.

4. Then start braiding a Dutch braid. This means you cross the strands under the middle strand rather than over it, as you would with a regular braid.

5. Keep adding strands so you can braid close along your head until you reach the nape of your neck.

6. Then do the same on the other side.

Dirndl hairstyle with a flower crown

To really show off your beautiful long hair, we have also prepared a hairstyle with your hair worn down. It doesn't always have to be a braid. An eye-catching flower crown can make a big impression, too. You can create this hairstyle with clip-in extensions, tape-in extensions, microring extensions, bonding extensions, ponytail extensions or flip-in extensions .

First, of course, you need a pretty headband with flowers. You can buy these quite inexpensively. Then simply put on your headband or flower crown, and your hairstyle is done.

It also looks great if you add a few curls to your hair with a curling iron or flat iron.

Of course, you can always add small braided elements to your hairstyle, too. After all, there is no one ultimate dirndl hairstyle, so feel free to get creative and experiment. The main thing is that it suits your dirndl and your style. We love it when you create new hairstyles with your Rubin hair extensions, and we love getting inspiration from you that we might even include in our next blog post.
